Around the end of last year, I began the process of pinpointing what my word or intention would be for this year.
Growing up, I typically wrote lists of resolutions that looked more like to-do lists than meaningful goals for growth. I’d cross a few things off my lists but inevitably forget the rest by March.
You see, I do better when I have an overarching intention for the year with goals stemming from that central theme, like recipes in specific cookbook chapters.
All my reflecting, brainstorming, and dreaming led to one word showing up over and over–delicious.
Images of baked goods, dishes with immaculate texture pairings, and mugs of warm tea were the first to show themselves as I mused on what a delicious year might look like. And, of course, scrumptious food will always be part of a year founded on deliciousness.
But as I thought more about it, I realized what I really wanted this year to be about–creating and savoring everyday delights.
Delicious moments are created by simply anchoring into the present and seeing the magic that already exists there.
So each month, I’ll be writing about my delicious moments. Through my observations, I’ll attempt to distill what each month offers me into a principle or concept I can delight in.
I’m also aiming to share some favorite recipes with you all because food is central to our humanity, and I know we all have stories surrounding it. I know I do.
My hope is that as I share my delectable moments with you, you’ll share yours with me too. And maybe we’ll all have a slightly easier go of it as we relish in the simple joys life gives us every day.
XO,
Sarah

Tell me about you!
